Indore: A team of State Commission for Protection of Child Rights ( SCPCR) visited M Hospital here on Sunday. The two- member team inspected nursery, NICU and PICU in the hospital and expressed their concern over poor facilities. However, they praised the hospital administration for NICU.

During inspection, team members— Dr Rita Upamanyu and Reena Gujral— sought rate of mortality in the nursery. Dr Upamanyu said that they demanded for records of orphan children in the hospital also but the hospital administration couldn’t provide it. She further said that they ordered the hospital administration to prepare a chart and name plates of orphan new- borns, so that they could be recognized them easily. She said that except one ICU, we have found all the other wards and ICUs for children dirty and expressed their annoyance over the functioning of the administration.

Team also visited Chacha Nehru Hospital for Children, but didn’t found any patient there. Asking about the status, the hospital administration informed them that due to Diwali they didn’t have any new patients. Praises state of affairs at District Hospital Dr Upamanyu said that during their visit to District Hospital, they found the rehabilitation ward well managed and other facilities for children. She also praised the facilities provided to patients there.

Members of SCPCR also inspected various hostels of the city and ordered the officers to work on loopholes to make conditions better for children.
