Garoth (Madhya Pradesh): On the lines of Jagannath Puri, an elaborate procession of Lord Jagannath (Rath Yatra) was taken out amid great enthusiasm and religious fervour here in Garoth town of Mandsaur district.
Hundreds of devotees including men, women and children attired in colourful costumes took part in Yatra. Rath Yatra which was taken out from Ram temple located at Khati Marg and passed through prominent intersections of the town including Shamgarh road, New bus stand, Rampura, Darwaja Nagar and terminated at Ram temple itself. Raising slogans of Jai Jagannath and singing religious hymns, the devotees of Lord Krishna marched barefoot to reach their destination. The devotees participating in the Rath Yatra were dancing to the tune of drum beats and were singing bhajans in the praise of Lord Jagannath en route. They were seen taking the Sawari of Lord Jagannath on a specially decorated rath and people had come in large numbers to pay their obeisance to the Lord. The authorities had also made elaborate arrangements to avert any untoward incident during the Yatra.
