Indore : An Urdu Girls School principal was caught by Indore Lokayukta police on Wednesday while accepting Rs 10000 as bribe from a teacher. He had demanded the bribe for approving arrears of Rs 2 lakh.
Due to some error in his performance records, Narendra Lathi, a teacher in primary school in Ahilya Paltan area, did not get revised salary for some months.
He informed Sankul principal Mohanlal Malviya about the error and requested him to release his arrears of Rs 2 lakh, for which the latter demanded Rs 10000.
He asked Lathi to come to him with the amount on Wednesday. Lathi lodged a complaint with Indore Lokayukta police who laid a trap.
They sent Lathi to the principal with Rs 10000. As he accepted the amount, Lokayukta police barged into his office and nabbed him. The amount was recovered from him and a case under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against him.
