Sardarpur (Madhya Pradesh): The project of constructing a two-kilometre model road worth Rs 3.25 crore at the old highway, Rajgarh is about to celebrate its first anniversary but only 50 per cent of the road has been completed in 10 months. that too with low-quality raw material.
Even the collector and the SDM seem to be helpless in compelling the contractor to use quality material and finish the work.
The construction work of the road started on September 10, 2021, after 13 long years. The city council president and councillors staged a protest on April 5, 2022, on this issue.
This busy road is used daily by about five to seven thousand businessmen as Rajgarh city is the main business hub of Sardarpur tehsil creating traffic jams daily. People residing on both sides of the road have no other option but to live with dirt and dust.
The advent of monsoon has increased the chances of accidents as the road is bound to become slippery due to the mud covering the road. When questions were asked from the responsible officers about the issue, they said, the contractors will complete the work according to their resources.
