S African team offers training for diamond cutting

Indore :  A delegation from South Africa’s Free Town various places of the city on Thursday and offered training and skill development for diamond industry. The delegation also expressed interest in pharmacy education for their students. The team is exploring possibilities of trade and investment in Indore, Pithampur and Dewas.

A 26-member delegation of South African’s Free State, led by its head ES Magshule arrived in the city on Thursday.

The delegation comprises representatives of agriculture, rural development, urban administration, education, public transport, tourism and farmer organisations. They first visited Tata International leather processing and manufacturing facility at Dewas. Later it visited the Crystal IT Park and SEZ and IIM.

At Crystal IT Park, the delegation visited IT company Infobeans and closely observed the software development work. During the meeting at Crystal IT Park, MD of AKVN Manish Singh gave a power point presentation to the delegation, depicting the unique features of Indore and Pithampur. He told them that there are lots of investment opportunities in the IT sector. Besides, there is also a fine industrial infrastructure at Pithampur with skilled labourers. Magshule curiously listened to Singh about Indore and Pithampur. The delegation visited Shakti Pumps plant and pharma company Cipla as well.

Later talking to Free Press, AKVN MD Singh said that the delegation has expressed interest in offering training to Indore-based diamond workers. Magshule said that they have expertise in diamond work and Indore is a rapidly developing diamond trade centre of central India. It may be notable that traders of Indore are doing good business and work in diamond industry. A diamond park opposite to IIM is also coming up. Singh said that the delegation has expressed desire to send their students for Pharmacy education in Indore. District administration is considering their proposal.

On July 25, the delegation will visit National Soybean Research Centre, Chouithram Fruit Mandi, readymade garment complex and electronics complex. On July 26, they will visit Mandu and on July 27 they will visit Manglia based Indore Dugdha Sangh and interact with its representatives and milk producers.
