Indore : Regional Transport Office will launch awareness campaign for mandatory ‘Conductor’s Licence’ in the city to motivate conductors to get their licence at the earliest.
“Only 57 people in the district have the mandatory ‘Conductor’s Licence’ for supporting the drivers of buses running in the city. More than 2000 buses are running, especially by schools in the city, but only two people have applied for the licence, this year,” Assistant RTO Archana Mishra said.
She said, “It seems that a lack of awareness about the mandatory licence is the main reason why people have not applied for the licence yet. Supreme Court has also issued guidelines and made it compulsory for the conductors to take the licence before working.”
Mishra stated that they will launch an awareness campaign soon in the city and will request bus conductors to take the licence.
It is to be noted that in the year 2013, only 20 people got the licence, 35 in 2014 and only 2 in 2015, so far.
“Process for getting the licence is very simple as applicants only have to submit their 8th standard mark sheet and application form.
The licence will be issued at the earliest,” Mishra added.
PS sanctioned Rs 3.5 crore for new building Principal Secretary, Transport Department Shivnarayan Mishra has sanctioned Rs 3.5 crores for the development of the new building of Regional Transport Department at Nayata Mundla. He had inspected the construction work, a couple of days ago.
According to senior officials of the department, the amount will be used for developing the approach road, developing electricity grid and also to arrange for water and other required facilities
