Rs 6.40 lakh stolen from trader’s vehicle

Indore : Thieves broke open a windscreen of a parked car and escaped with Rs 6.40 lakh in the Annapurna police station limit here on Monday. The police have registered a case on the complaint of a trader of Dawa Bazaar and started an investigation into the matter.

According to the police, the incident took place on Monday afternoon when trader Rajesh Rajpal, a resident of Baikunthdham Colony was on his way to a bank in Usha Nagar for depositing the amount.

As his car got punctured he parked his car at the roadside and went to call a mechanic in order to get his car repaired. After a while, when he returned back to the car, he found the windscreen of his car was broken. On checking, Rajpal found Rs 6.40 lakh was missing which was kept in a bag on the rear seat of the car. He immediately informed the police about the incident and lodged a complaint.

The police have collected the footage captured in CCTV cameras installed around the spot after investigating the scene and also made a thorough inspection of the spot.

According to the police, a boy was seen near the car with a bag in the CCTV footage.

The police are trying to identify the boy and also collecting information from the local residents in order to trace him.
