Indore : The police have nabbed seven men who were planning an armed robbery and seized weapons of sorts along with red chillie powder from their possession. According to DIG, Santosh Kumar Singh, acting on a tip-off a police team cordoned off an area in Safi Nagar railway station and nabbed seven men. The team seized weapons of sorts along with a country made pistol and red chillie powder from their possession.
The four of the seven accused were identified as Javed Khan alias Chaggu, Afsar Hussain alias Badshah, Manish Goswami, and Riyaz, The police are trying to establish the identity of the other three.
During questioning, Javed named three members of the gang as Chintu alias Aakash, Sachin Yadav and Vicky Malhotra all residents of Mumbai as their accomplices in past robberies.
Javed also named three Sarafa traders, Mukesh Maheswari, Madhu Sharma and Brijkishore Soni as the men who had purchased stolen jewellery from the gang. The police have recovered a Honda City car along with stolen merchandise worth Rs 30 lakh. Javed is being questioned further and the police hope to solve some more robberies.
