They were involved in a dozen loots
Indore: Kanadia police claimed to have busted a robbers gang with the arrest of three robbers, who used to rob the truck drivers at knifepoint. The accused have accepted a dozen of robbery incidents. Police have seized some of the booties and further interrogation of the accused is continuing.
DIG Rakesh Gupta informed to media about the arrest of robbers on Monday. He said that police busted gang during the investigation of a robbery case occurred in front of Sahara City on Bypass on May 15. The arrested robbers stopped a truck by keeping a bike on the road.
They then looted Rs 10,000 a mobile phone from truck driver Devendra Jatav on knifepoint. Devendra lodged a complaint with the Kanadia police station and provided the bike number and physical features of the looters.
On the direction of senior officers, a police team was formed. The team questioned a dozen miscreants in this connection.
Through this endeavour, police came to know that the bike used by the accused was with a person named Imran and he had obtained it from one of his relatives. On the basis of this information, police arrested Imran, a resident of Bangali Colony of Khajrana area. On sustained interrogation of Imran, he accepted the robbery along with Usman Ansari and Sarfaraj alias Golu Khan, both residents of Raju Nagar (Khajrana). The police arrested Usman and Sarfaraj and recovered the bike and the mobile, along with one big knife. The arrested have so far accepted around a dozen of robbery, mostly committed on Bypass.
The crime they accepted include the loot of Rs 62,000 and a mobile from another truck driver Jitendra and robbing cash, ear-tops and a mobile from a woman in Ashish Nagar. Police are continuing interrogation of the arrested and also trying to recover more booty from them.
