Indore : The first centre of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), which affiliates technical courses offered by the colleges in the State, will come up in Indore, tentatively in December.
Department of Technical Education officials said that Minister Umashankar Gupta has directed to prepare a guideline for the RGPV’s centre in Indore and sent it to the varsity for implementation.
Following the wish of the DTE for setting up regional centres across the State, the RGPV had announced to set up some centres from this year itself. But as of now, only preparation for setting up centre in Indore is underway and that too, according to the DTE officials, would come up only in December. The centre would be helpful for students as they would not have to go all the way to Bhopal for various documents. Besides, they would be able to fill enrolment and revaluation forms.
The RGPV has planned to set up at least four centres in the State by 2015.
The DAVV has also approved proposal for setting up centres in Jhabua, Barwani, etc but to no avail so far.
