INDORE : The rescues parties have rescued over 400 people on Tuesday from the different water logged areas of the city. In view of the excessive rains in the city, the administration has roped in all resources and deployed the SDMs and CSPs in the field. It has divided the City in the four sectors for the proper monitoring of the relief works.
Following rain fury, the district administration and Indore Municipal Corporation remained on toes. Rescue teams reached rain hit areas and drained rainwater. As many as 23 JCBs, four phokelane machines, five dewatering machines and 15 drainage vehicles were pressed into the operation.
Over 400 people of the Sirpur area were evacuated from the water-logged areas and arrangements of their stay were made in Sindhi Dharmashala at Dwarkapuri. Similarly, 100 flood affected residents of the Krishnabag area where shifted to Carrier School. Six families from the Krishnapura Chhatries areas were also evacuated and placed in a camp.
6 people rescued at 3 am
Officiating collector Aashish Singh said that the officials of the administration had received the information on late Sunday night at 2.30am that 6 people have been stranded at an island there. The rescue team swung into action and rescued them at 3am, later they were shifted in a camp.
Food Control officer and ADM Dilip Kumar said that the close watch is kept on the entire city by dividing it into four parts for better coordination.
The health department has also constituted four teams. The teams will continuously keep close watch in their areas and also visit the relief camps of their areas. The teams are distributing the chlorine tables.
