Remaining patients to be discharged today

Indore : The remaining eight patients, who had lost their eye sight after botched surgery in Barwani, would be discharged from the hospital on Tuesday.

The patients will be sent to their villages by the Health Department officials and further medication will be given to them at their places by the local doctors.

A 3-member committee of health officials visited Barwani to prepare report in this matter and take account of recovery of patients, on Monday.

The committee will stay there for two days and will talk to the patients and their family members regarding the treatment and recovery. The committee report will also inform the government about compensation to the victims. Joint Director, Health Dr Sharad Pandit said, “The patients will be discharged from the hospital on Tuesday after which no patient will remain in Indore. We will also provide further medication to these patients through the doctors of Barwani under the supervision of the team of MGM Medical College.”

He said that 3-member team including MGM Medial College’s Dean Dr MK Rathore, AIIMS’ Dr Dewashish Vishwas and a Deputy Director Srivastava has reached to Barwani on Monday and they will prepare the report about the treatment and submit it to the government.
