Indore : Once again, the city cops were thrashed, this time by family members of a notorious criminal. This is second such incident in a week. They had earlier beaten up by Army men.

According to the police, the incident occurred when a police team went to the residence of a criminal on Saturday night to arrest him.

Cases have been registered against Ramavtar Mimrot, his wife, daughter and son Mahendra alias Golu.

Ramavtar’s son Hitesh is a listed criminal and has a number of cases pending against him as well as warrants. On Saturday night a police team led by ASI Ashok Patel went to Hitesh’s house.

Ramavtar opened the door and an argument ensued between the family members and the police team.

The family members then attacked the police team with sticks, iron rods and other items. ASI Patel and Constable Jitendra Goyal sustained injuries in the brawl.

Other members of police party intervened and help from patrolling parties also sought which also arrived on the scene. They overcame the family members, arrested them and brought them to the police station. While cases were being registered, the family members created a ruckus at the police station.
