Indore : Dismayed over scolding by his mother for not showing interest in studies, a 13-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of one of his relatives’ houses in Sudama Nagar area on Friday.
Though the deceased did not leave any suicide not behind, police claimed he took the extreme step after his mother rebuked him.
A student of class 7, Manoj Bageshwar of Kundan Nagar was enjoying Christmas holiday when his mother scolded him for his poor academic performance. She pooled him up for not showing interest in studies but in other activities. The minor boy got so dismayed that he went to one of his relative’s houses and hanged himself from the ceiling of a room.
Police said the relatives found Manoj hanging and informed his parents and police about the incident.
‘The boy was freed from the noose and rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead, TI Dilip Gangrade said adding that deceased’s body has been sent for autopsy.
