Ratlam: Police official dies in Alot, dispute surfaces in family to claim body

The body was kept in mortuary behind old hospital after post-mortem. The widow of ASI Solanki sat in front of the vehicle insisting to take the body but Solanki’s brother objected as he too wanted to take the body with him.

Alot (Ratlam district, Madhya Pradesh): An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Barkheda Kalan police station died in a road accident on Friday evening.

Govardhan Singh Solanki died as he fell off Barkheda Khurd culvert. Police took him to Tal Community Health Centre in Dial 100 service ambulance where he was declared dead by the doctors after examination.

Dr RK Pal from the Community Health Centre said ASI Solanki was found dead on arrival after examination. “Most probably, he died on the spot due to head injury. Post- mortem was done on Saturday morning,” he added.

The body was kept in mortuary behind old hospital after post-mortem. The widow of ASI Solanki sat in front of the vehicle insisting to take the body but Solanki’s brother objected as he too wanted to take the body with him.

Till the time of filing this report, the dispute was not resolved as Solanki’s wife, brother and police station incharge of Barkheda Kalan were present near mortuary waiting for a senior official to intervene in the matter.
