Indore : With an aim to maintain law and order in the district, the Upper Collector on Wednesday issued orders prohibit rallies, processions under Section 144. Violators of the orders would invite legal action under relevant Sections, the orders said.
As per information, the prohibition would remain effective till May 14. During this period, no rallies, processions, protests, public meetings or other such activities would be allowed. The orders were issued under Madhya Pradesh Noise Control Act 1985. Under this act, use of loud speaker without permissions from the official concerned is banned.
In marriage processions, the organisers should ensure that the light bearers would not cause any problem to the traffic. Besides, no stage would be allowed on major roads like MG Road, Jawahar Marg, Rajwada, RNT Marg and AB Road without prior permission from the official concerned.
The order further instructed that after an event, all the banners, posters should be removed within 24 hours of the event by the organizers. Those who defy the orders would face legal action under Section 188 of the IPC
