Indore:Popular Bollywood comedian Rajpal Yadav was in the city, on Sunday. The actor held special press meet to promote his directorial venture, ‘Ata Pata Lapata’ (APL). The film will hit the theatres on November 2. Leading the star-cast, Yadav has a company of over 150 acclaimed artistes from cinema and theatre world.
Some of the popular names are: Ashutosh Rana, Dara Singh, Asrani, Hemant Pandey, Manoj Tiwari among others. Briefing the media at Press Club, Yadav said APL is a musical satire portraying issues the common man has been facing since last 10 years. He also said the film’s representation was unique, however, while addressing the serious issues in the film, no strata of society is being glorified or belittled in the film.
“The film’s main aim is to enlighten people while entertaining them”, he said. When asked whether he was apprehensive about people’s response, Yadav appeared sensibly nonchalant. He opined that there are only two kinds of cinema today— Good and bad. “We have tried to make a good cinema. If we fail to impress the audiences in our maiden tryst, it’s okay. We’ll take away the good and try not to repeat the not-so-good next time.”
Yadav also talked in length about his preference for topical films. “There is an issue that is being highlighted. I like that. Films should actually make people think after they have left the cinemahall. APL is in the same league and I am positive, the audience will appreciate our effort.”
