Indore : After lashing the city for last three days, rains gave a relief to the citizens on Tuesday as no rainfall was recorded but the citizens had to face troubles due to the after effects of rains.
Tall claims of the civic bodies were also fall flat when the denizens continued to struggle with the waterlogged streets and the disrupted power supply.
Residents of Scheme no 51, Sangam Nagar, Bangadada, Manavata Nagar, Sukhdev Nagar and other near by areas had to face frequent power cuts due to fault in the supply as the result of heavy rains.
However, the cold temperature gave relief to the people as the maximum temperature was recorded at 31 which was 4 degree below normal whereas the minimum temperature was recorded at 20.2 degree Celsius which was 3 degree below normal temperature. Officials of Met Department stated that more rains are expected in next few days as the humidity level remains high.
“The city has witnessed about 9 inches rain till June 23 which is about 8.5 inches more than the rains witnessed till date, last year,” Met officials said. The department claimed that thundershowers and heavy rains are expected in next couple of days. The sky will remain overcast, met officials added.
