Indore : Whistle blower of VYAPAM Scam Dr Anand Rai urged the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Joint-Director RP Agrawal to lodge an FIR in the seat cancellation scam, on Sunday.
In his complaint, Dr Rai apprised the CBI about his earlier complaint in the same case which he lodged to the ADG, MP STF in June 2015.
According to Dr Rai, “The State Government has not initiated any action over my complaint on the seat cancellation scam yet even it is a part of VYAPAM scam. I have lodged a complaint to register an FIR in the seat cancellation scam as the CBI has taken over all complaints and cases related to Vyapam.”
It is to be noted that there are six private medical and 15 private dental colleges in the state with nearly 2,800 seats for which the Association for Private Medical and Dental Colleges conducts DMAT every year.
Out of total seats, 42 percent seats fall under government quota, 43 percent seats are for the college management and remaining 15 percent under the NRI quota.
The 58 percent seats comprising management and NRI quotas were filled up through DMAT.
“The Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (AFRC) appellate authority investigated the case and found that private medical colleges were involved in corrupt practices and admission granted through unfair means,” he said.
The whistle blower also stated that in 2013, AFRC had also slapped Rs 13 crores fine on six private medical colleges in state after finding irregularities while admitting students against vacant seats under state quota.
