Indore : Lasudia police on Thursday registered cases against the group of people who staged demonstration in front of the police station by begging for money to pay for an alleged bribe demanded by the cops.

The charges against the protesters range from laying siege of the police station and confining the police officials within the police station.

On a complaint filed by Head Constable Mahesh Verma, cases have been registered against Subhash Solanki, Mukesh Yadav, Golu Parmar, Khallasi, and Sibbu Lohar under Sections 341, 147, and 149 of the IPC.

In the FIR, the cops alleged that the accused arrived at the police station on Wednesday, accompanied by more than two dozen people, shouted slogans and tried to pressurise police to let go off a motorcycle being driven without registration tag and papers.

It was further alleged that the demonstrators practically confined the police personnel within the police station, created traffic jam on the main road and did not allow general public to come in and lodge complaints.

The ruckus began after ASI Omkar Singh Bhadoriya detained a motorcycle being driven without registration tag and papers by one Sunil on Tuesday night. The demonstrators alleged that Bhadoriya demanded Rs 2000 to let the vehicle go and the demonstrators protested by way of begging for money at the police station.
