Indore : Keeping in view the Global Investors Summit-2014, international flights from Indore will be expedited and an Aero-bridge at City airport will be completed by this month-end. Special permission for temporary flight between Sharjah and Indore will also be sought.
These assurances were given by Union Minister of Civil Aviation Ashok Gajpati Raju to Industry Minister Yashodhara Raje, when she called on him, on Wednesday. She also apprised the Union Minister about the MoUs signed between the State Government and Air Arabia and Air Emirates recently during Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s visit to UAE. Air Arabia and Air Emirates have also agreed to start flight operation from Indore to Sharjah and Dubai.
She also informed Raju that large number of businessmen and entrepreneurs of UAE wanted to invest in Madhya Pradesh and they would be attending the forthcoming GIS, to be held from October 8 to 10. She also requested Raju to grant temporary permission for direct flights between Dubai and Indore.
Raju assured Raje to complete the Aero bridge construction well before the Summit by end of this month. The Union minister also gave instruction to his officers, who were present during the meeting, to do accordingly.
He also assured Raje to expedite the process to start regular direct flights between Indore and Dubai and assure d her of quick approval.
Raju also said that he would visit MP along with the representatives of different airlines and meet the CM. Principal Secretary (Industry) Mohammad Suleman, the MD of Air India and senior officers of the Civil Aviation Ministry were present at the meeting.
