BHOPAL : The President Pranab Mukherjee, Governor Ramnaresh Yadav, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and HRD minister Smirti Irani will take part in the second convocation of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research here on June 27.In a press conference, Prof Vinod K Singh, director of IISER, said, the president will deliver the convocation speech. Yadav, Chauhan and Irani will be special invitees.

Honourary doctorate will be awarded to eminent scientist Prof CNR Rao, Prof Goverdhan Mehta, national research professor and Lilly-Jubilant chair, University of Hyderabad.

About 48 students who completed under graduation to Ph D, 462 students of dual degree programme and 168 Ph D students will be awarded degrees in the function. The convocation will be held at 5.15 pm at its Bhauri campus.

Before this, the president will address convocation of Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University in Jabalpur at 1 pm.

Traffic diversions announced for Prez visit

President Pranab Mukherjee will arrive in the city on June 27. After reaching Rajbhawan, Mukherjee will go to IISER Institute in the evening.  Proper traffic arrangements have been made in the wake of President’s visit. The movement of heavy vehicles on VIP Road, Khajuri Trisection, Parvalia police station, Karond Square, Halalpur, VIP Guest House, Roshanpura, Gandhi Park and Khatlapura would be prohibited one hour before the arrival of the President. The heavy vehicles coming from Indore side will come to Bhopal from Khajuri Bypass to Phanda Jod via Ratibad and Bilkisganj.  During VVIP movement, the traffic from Peergate to Polytechnic would not go to Retghat and will go through Moti Masjid, Budhwaara, Sultania Road and Jehangirabad to Roshanpura. Similarly, a diversion would be put at Banganga Square and KN Pradhan Trisection during President’s movement from Rajbhawan. The vehicles would go from Roshanpura, Jehangirabad, Tallaiya and Hamidia Road to their destinations.
