Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Collector Asheesh Singh observed various industrial units located in the rural area of the district on Thursday to explore the possibilities of safe and environment-friendly disposal of stubble in the district. These units are related to biomass fuel and CNG production. He said that there are better possibilities of disposal of agricultural residues in these units.
He said that if all the farmers give their agricultural residues to these units, then the stubble can be disposed of in a better and environmentally safe way. The collector began his tour with an overview of the Reliance Bio Energy Plant, which is under construction in Dakachhaya.
He took detailed information about the plant here. It was told that this plant will be ready in March. Biomass fuel will be produced in this plant with biomass purchased from farmers.
Collector Singh said that agricultural residues (stubble) of the district should be fully used in this plant. This will put an end to the harmful practice of burning stubble. Farmers will get double benefit.
On one hand, they will get the price of their produce and also the price of stubble. The environment will also be safe. He also discussed with the plant officials regarding the use of wheat stubble in this plant. He also said that biomass coming from the IMC and the Gram Panchayats of the district can also be used in this plant.
Similarly, he also visited Mamleshwar Plant, an industrial unit of pellets and briquettes made from biomass in Tillaur. Here too, pellets and briquettes are being manufactured from biomass. Possibilities were explored regarding safe disposal of stubble.
