Jaora : The government is making every possible efforts to improve the quality of mid-day meals and for that they gave the contract of preparing meal to various NGOs, self help group and private contractors but all in vain. As in the recent surprise inspection conducted by the SDM Harjindar Singh, the food given under the scheme was found of bad quality. Irked at this, the SDM directed to take strict actions against the group.
As per the government scheme, in the cities and in villages, the task of providing meal is given to the municipal council and self-help groups respectively and the administration has strictly directed the head of the schools to taste the meal before serving it to the students.
In Jaora, this task of supplying meal to the 17 primary, eight secondary, 5 madarsa and one Bal Mandir has been given to the ‘Durga Mahila Bachat Saak Samiti’ of the municipality. Few days ago, when SDM went to inspect the schools and taste the food, he became furious as the food was of bad quality. He immediately instructed to take strict action against the committee.
This action of SDM has created chaos among the school authorities and they started to follow the rules. In-charge CMO of municipality said that they would send the notice to the respective officials and if they did not get the satisfactory answer then action would be taken.
