Indore : Heera Nagar police have solved the robbery case of a finance company employee and arrested two persons on Saturday. The police also seized a motorcycle and a knife and recovered looted mobile phone along with Rs 19,800 cash.
According to the police, Manoj Rao (25) a resident of Amarkunj Colony is employed with Ujjivan Finance Company Limited.
On July 10, Manoj had collected cash during a meeting of woman’s cell in Bhawani Nagar and was returning to the office in Kashipuri when he stopped near a bridge on Khan River to answer call of nature.
According to Manoj, three men riding a motorcycle came from Chandragupta Morya Square and threatened him with a knife and snatched his bag containing the cash along with mobile phone and motorcycle key.
Heera Nagar police registered a case and began investigating the matter. During their investigation, an informer told the police about the stolen mobile phone.
Based on this information the police detained Shubham Jain of Sadar Bazaar who told the police that he had bought the phone from his friend Lakhan Narothe (21) of Marathi Mohalla.
The police then arrested Lakhan who in turn named Vipin Chouhan, Jitendra and Gopal Vashinde as source for the phone. The police promptly arrested Vipin Chouhan (23) a resident of Kumharkhedi and Jitendra Mahwari (24) of Ranipura. The duo admitted to the loot and the police also seized the motorcycle and knife and recovered looted mobile phones along with Rs 19800 cash.
The third accused Gopal Vashinde of Nandbagh Colony had left the city after the loot and distribution of booty. Gopal has criminal record and a search is on for him now.
