Indore : Kanadia police rescued a girl confined in a flat and arrested one person. However, later the police dropped the girl at railway station at midnight where she reportedly caught a train back home.

According to sources, the girl was confined in Flat No 202 of Gurukripa Apartment, Shrejee Valley, Bicholi Mardana. She had written her mobile number on a piece of paper seeking help and threw it from the window of the flat towards some men standing below.

One of the men called police control room, who in turn informed Kanadia police. A police team was dispatched and found the girl along with a youth Arvind Malvi in the flat.

The duo was brought to the police station where the girl identified herself as Varsha Nandi of Kolkata. Varsha told the police that Arvind had called her to the city for some event work.

Varsha met him at the flat and sought details of the event. Arvind told her to wait for a couple of days and Varsha refused, but Arvind told her that he would pay her. When Varsha asked for the money, Arvind refused, slapped her and confined her in the flat.

Based on the statement made by Varsha, Arvind has been booked by the police under Sections 342 and 343 of the IPC and are now questioning him.

Police drop her at station at midnight

Though the police did commendable job of rescuing the girl from her confinement, they undid their good work by leaving her at Railways station alone in the night to fend for herself. After completing the formalities the police at first took her to the airport, but by that it was midnight and the airport was closed. The police then reportedly left her at platform 1 of Indore railway station which is under construction. The police team did not even bother to inform the GRP when they dropped her off at the station.
