Indore : Alertness of police and district administration, was averted an untoward incident in Chandan Nagar area when two groups came face-to-face, on Tuesday night.
A tense situation prevailed in the area for more than an hour but with the deployment of heavy police force and presence of administrative officials, the situation turned normal.
However, armed police was deployed in the area to control the situation. Police patrolling is on.
According to sources, the incident turned worse when a bike-borne youth was blowing horn during a funeral in the area. “The youth was blowing horn continuously even after some people, attending the funeral, asked him not to do so. But, the youth continued blowing horns to make way from the crowd and was beaten-up by the youth, attending the funeral,” sources said.
The youth went back after being thrashed by the crowd but he returned with his aides and started creating a ruckus near ‘Chandmari Ka Bhatta’ crematorium.
Learning about the incident, heavy police force led by ASP Rupesh Dwivedi reached the spot and defused the situation. The administrative officials including SDM Sandeep Soni, DK Nagendra and others also reached the scene to monitor the situation.
However, the police tried to hide the matter to keep the situation normal. No complaint was lodged in the matter.
