Indore : Senior advocate PK Shukla was elected as new president of the Indore High Court Bar Association on Friday defeating his nearest rival Raghavendra Bais by 63 votes. Shukla was elected as the president of Bar Association for the fifth time.

The elections of Indore High Court Bar Association were held on Friday and results were announced late in the night.

Four candidates including senior advocates PK Shukla, Achla Joshi, Raghavendra Bais and Shailendra Mishra were in the fray for the president post.

Shukla received 503 votes while Bais, Joshi and Mishra got 440, 310 and 51 votes respectively. 15 votes were declared invalid.

Besides, Ritesh Inani was elected as vice president and Anil Ojha as secretary. While Inani (434 votes) defeated his nearest rival Suraj Sharma (354 votes) by 80 votes, Ojha was declared winner by 214 votes. Ojha got 661 votes and his nearest rival Anshuman Shrivastava received 447 votes.

Manish Gadkar was elected as joint secretary. He got 587 votes and his competitor Bhuvan Gautam received 435 votes.
