Indore : Over 2,000 road construction experts and engineers from various parts of the country and abroad will arrive here to participate in the 76th Conference of Indian Road Congress to be held from December 18 to 22. Several Union Ministers would also attend the meet.
Pramod Agrawal, Principal Secretary, Public Works Department while addressing a meeting called to review the preparations here on Thursday said the outcome of the conference would be implemented.
Agrawal further said that it is a proud moment for the City to host such a prestigious event. He also talked about accommodation for the guests. He said that over 2000 experts would participate in the conference. Some of them will present their research papers too.
At the venue of the conference, Brilliant Convention Centre, exhibition and stalls would be put up. Cultural programs would also be held in the evening.
Agrawal further said that research is going on for development in roads construction. The outcome of the conference would be implemented. The Indian Road Congress is an important organization and it holds conference in all over India.
The second review meeting of the Conference would be held on December 2.
Akhilesh Agrawal, Chief Engineer PWD, said that delegates from the country as well as abroad would attend the conference to discuss about the latest technologies used in road construction.
The review meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner Sanjay Dubey, Collector P Narahari and officials of the IDA, IMC, PWD, Bridge Cell.
Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari, CM Shivrajsingh Chouhan, Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj, Union Steel Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawarchand Gehlot would attend the conference.
