Indore: To improve health services in the State, the Department of Health and Family Welfare has decided not to shut OPDs in the government hospitals for two consecutive days. The department also extended timings of the general OPDs and issued orders to open them from 8 am to 1 pm.

In an order issued on Monday by deputy secretary Arun Tomar, it has been stated that the Government Hospitals can’t shut the OPDs for two consecutive days. In case of two holidays, the administration has open OPDs for full time for a day. The department has also made the evening OPD mandatory. The doctors will have to remain present in the OPDs.

To control on referral from the government hospitals, the department also issued orders that no patient should be refereed to other hospital and giving primary treatment is a must.It was also mentioned that the doctors have to take round of the hospitals on Sunday as well.It is to be noted that the department had issued such orders earlier also and the hospital did not take trhem seriously.
