Indore : After taking action against properties who have flouted commercial tax through ‘measuring exercise’, IMC now plans to target the BOs (Building officer) and BIs (Building Inspectors), who did not report these grave violations to IMC.

Sources said that the higher officials at the IMC are now planning to serve show cause notice to the BO and BI of the respective areas. This step is considered keeping the possible involvement of the officials in the whole sequence.

According to Additional Commissioner Devendra Singh, various premises were found to be almost double the size of the area declared on paper. The owners of the building were asked to hand over a cheque of remaining tax payments on spot to the officials. Measurements of various others building across the city are in progress.
