Indore : The State Horticulture department appointed Warehousing and Logistic Corporation as the executing agency for establishment of centre for perishable cargo at the city airport. The Corporation has also appointed a consultant for the same. It may be noted that the State Government has decided to establish a perishable cargo center at city airport, which will provide facility for export of fresh vegetables, fruits and flower of the Malwa and Nimar regions to foreign countries.

Under the project, the center will be established at old terminal building where large cold storage will be built for perishable items like fresh vegetables, fruits and flower. The region produces some world-class perishable items but due to non-availability of export and proper transportation facility, the farmers could not get better return.
