Indore : Students from the city failed to secure a place in the merit list of BEd entrance test, results of which were announced by the MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB), on Sunday.
Ajay Kumar Shukla from Sagar stood first in the exam while two students each from Jabalpur and Bhopal, one each from Bhind, Mandsaur, Shahdol, Gwalior and Guna secured position in the list of top-10 toppers.
The highest number of students 9257 had appeared in the test from Indore followed by Bhopal (7796) and Jabalpur (7446) but none could figure in the top-10 list. The test was held for filling about 41000 seats in BEd colleges in the State, including 4600 seats in colleges under the DAVV.
From this year, the BEd course duration has been increased to two years by the NCTE. Recently, the UGC directed the universities to revise the course curriculum and bring it under semester system. The DAVV said that the curriculum would soon be upgraded.
