Ratlam: There is a need of strengthening local transportation system so that people residing in the colonies could get the facility. This need was stressed by the Mayor Ratlam Municipal Corporation Sheilendra Daga. He said that presently there are no proper civic transportation arrangements for the people residing in the colonies and localities, which are spreading further in new areas and because of that thousands of people have been deprived of the transportation system, which is presently available mainly in the city area.

He said that there is a need of issuing more permits for plying vehicles as this will also add to the employment for the city youth. A meeting of the Road Safety Committee was held in which decision was taken for running vehicles on the three new routes.

It was decided in the meeting that no movement of the school buses should not be allowed in the densely populated city areas and all types of encroachments will be removed. Decision was taken to construct bypass ring road which will be connected with Sailana, Bajna and Jhabua roads which will result in heavy vehicles passing from the ring road which presently enter inside the city. Railway will be told to shift its goods godown to Dhoswas.

It was informed in the meeting that a ring road has been decided for the operating of the school buses. Sailana bus stand will also be shifted to the Alkapuri area. Members raised demand to creat one way movement of the vehiclesin Daulatganj, Dalumodi Bazar and Manek Chowk areas.
