Indore : Khandwa Road located New Digamber Public School authorities have filed a police complaint of manhandling its gateman by suspected ABVP activists.

According to school principal Winston Gomez, the incident took place on July 21 at around 3:40 pm when few men believed to be of ABVP came to the school on motorbikes and asked the gateman to open the gate as they wanted to meet him. But when gateman Abhishek Triphati told them that the school has been closed for the day and the principal was also not present in the school, started manhandling him. They also warned him returning next day with more activists and would ransack the school as they were not allowed to meet the principal.

Speaking to Free Press, Gomez said, “As soon as our gateman informed about the incident, we filed an official complaint about this at the Bhawarkua police station and also informed to the higher police authorities in order to ensure the safety and securities of the school staff and students.”

According to the gateman, the accused belonged to the ABVP and wanted to meet the principal regarding some donation (chanda). Police officials reached at the school on the next day to ensure security of the school, the principal said. However, the ABVP activists did not turn up on that day.
