A view of vaccination centre in Nagda

Nagda (Ujjain district, Madhya Pradesh): People thronged the vaccination centre here on Thursday as it was not done for the last four days and many returned disappointed as only 250 vaccines were available. Against this, 500 people came for the jabs.

Some people were given special preference for vaccination and commoners who waited for hours, had to return empty handed, a local said wishing anonymity.

The vaccination centre located near Civil Hospital became so crowded that no one was taking care of social distancing there. In such a situation, the officials of the Health Department had to make efforts to convince everyone.

District Congress President Subodh Swami staged sit-in to protest poor arrangements for vaccination. “This is mismanagement, which has led to chaos. Some politicians are getting their friends and family vaccinated secretly, which is unfair. Everyone has a right to get inoculated,” he added.
