Indore : Large number of poor patients and their kin faced trouble in MY Hospital on Thursday when the bouncers and security guards didn’t allow them to enter in the hospital for more than six hours to facilitate inspection by Principal Secretary Vinod Semwal.

Guards also took out the attendants forcibly from the wards before the inspection visit. Enraged by the misbehaviour of the security guards, patients’ kin created ruckus in the hospital and also broke the glass of the main entrance of the hospital.

Kin alleged that they were taken out from the ward at around 7 am prevented from entering again for more than 6 hours. Most of the attendants facing trouble at the main entrance had attendant passes with them.

One of the attendants of patient Golu (18), resident of Dewas, who was admitted to the hospital at 3 am after consuming some poisonous substance, said, “We were kicked out of the ward at 7 am by the guards. It has been six hours. We don’t know about the health conditions of our patient and it seems that the hospital administration will let us meet him only after his death.”

Similarly, Kamla Bai, resident of Nayapura, said that her daughter is admitted on the fifth floor in critical conditions but the staff if not allowing her to meet her daughter.

“Nobody will ask her about food and water in the ward. I am worried about her health and if officials want to visit the hospital then they should check the reality by surprise inspection,” she said.

Moreover, the bouncers of the hospital had allegedly thrashed a staff nurse in the hospital as well. Nurse Shivdayal was stopped by the guards when he was going to sign the duty register.

“I told them that I am a nurse even then they abused and thrashed me. I was saved by the President of Nursing Association Dharmendra Pathak,” Shivdayal said.

Superintendent Dr AD Bhatnagar denied any such incident and said that the guards only asked him about his identity card and didn’t thrash him.
