Indore : A subject expert came to the School of Life Sciences for viva termed projects submitted by four MPhil students substandard prompting the Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) to constitute a panel to probe into the matter.
The panel held a meeting on Tuesday and took comments of faculty members of School of Life Sciences on the projects and sought copies of the projects from department head Suresh Chand.
According to information, an external was called for viva of five MPhil students of School of Life Sciences a few months back.
He went through the projects of the students and remarked that four projects were not viable for completion of the programme.
Following students objection over the remark of the expert, the DAVV constituted a four member committee to look into the matter.
The committee comprising Jayant Sonwalkar, GP Pandey, Ashesh Tiwari and Kanhiya Ahuja on Tuesday held a meeting and reportedly reached on a conclusion that the students should be given a chance to submit their projects once again.
One of the committee members wishing anonymity said that they don’t want the subject expert’s remark to be set aside but are also of a view that the students can be given a chance to re-submit their projects again.
He said that they would submit their report shortly to acting vice chancellor Prof Ashutosh Mishra who will take a final call over the matter.
