Indore : Mayor KM Moghe, on Tuesday urged the IMC councilors to take part in the “Swacch Madhya Pradesh” drive to make it a huge success.
It was said that on August 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked the citizens to celebrate the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti by participating in the “Swacch Bharat” and the day must be celebrated as “Swachta Diwas”. It was also informed that the PM on the occasion said that the general public’s participation in such drives is a must to make the event successful.
In the same sequence, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan took a resolution to celebrate the occasion as “Swacch Madhya Pradesh”. It was informed that the primary motive behind the drive is advancement of urban hygiene. The Mayor in the letter asked the councilors to encourage students of schools-colleges, residents, social institutions and others to participate in the event.
The Mayor in the letter mentioned that the drive would be carried out on identified locations in the wards with the help of cleaning staff of the IMC and participation of residents of the area. He said that the residents must be motivated to clean the area near their house as well. To encourage huge participation, pamphlets and hoardings must also be installed at various locations. Each ward would have an IMC official at the site of drive.
