Indore : Former MLA from Sanver constituency, Tulsi Silawat on Tuesday had heated exchanges with SDM Shringar Shrivastava when the latter came to pacify farmers protesting at the district collector’s building.
Silawat went to district collector’s office along with farmers to raise the issue of contaminated water of Khar river pouring into Kshipra river and thus polluting it. But, as the farmers entered the administrative building raising slogans SDM Shringar Shrivastava tried to pacify them and thereby entangled in a heated exchange when he reportedly suggested the protestors not to “cross the limit”.
To this, Silawat hit back at Shrivastava stating that he should learn how to talk. As the tempers ran high, ADM Deepak Singh stepped in and pacified Silawat.
Silawat gave a memorandum to Singh stating that acidic water of Khan river is mixing with Kshipra river and polluting it. He claimed that the cattle are dying by consuming acidic water of Kshipra river.
“The ADM assured me of constituting a committee within two days to examine the water of both the rivers,” Silawat said.
Collector P Narahari said that they had received a memorandum from Silawat and soon a committee of district administration would visit and collect water samples of both the rivers.
“If the apprehensions expressed by farmers are found to be true then whatever action is required would be taken,” Narahari assured.
