Indore: The wintry Sunday morning saw the riot of colours run across the lush green lawns of Free Press as thousands of schoolchildren participated in a painting competition, organised by Free Press along with DHL Infrabulls International Pvt Ltd.

Armed with brushes, pencils, and colours and filled with great enthusiasm, hundreds of students turned up for the annual painting competition and lent colours to their imagination. Enthusiastic participants started thronging the Free Press premises as early as 8.30 am. They eagerly waited for the crucial hour when they would start painting their thought.

The children were seated and their parents left their wards, wishing them all the best for the day.The organisers divided them into three groups according to classes viz. standard I to IV ( Group A), standard V to VIII ( Group B) and I to II ( Group C).

Group ‘ A’ participants were asked to paint anything of their interest.They outpoured their imagination on the drawing sheets.Students of Group ‘ B’ were asked to choose from a variety of topics like ‘ Family Time’, ‘ Travelling on i- Bus’, ‘ Indore- My City of Dreams’ and ‘ Conserve Water/ Save Food’. These upcoming talents played well with the topics and showed how unique their imaginations were.

The Group ‘ C’ participants displayed their maturing minds with the way they approached the given topics: Madhya Pradesh: A Tourist destination, BRTS: Bane or Boon, and My Leader/ My Prime Minister.

There were three prizesthe first, second and the third prize along with 10 consolation prizes in each group. The judges had a tough time while judging the winners.In Group A, Manavendra Singh Alawa of standard IV, Indore Public School bagged the first prize.

Mruqishi Pal of standard IV, Prestige Public School came second and Dev Detwal of standard III, JJ Public School bagged the third prize.

In Group B, Vasudev Panchal of standard VII, Army Public School came first and the second and the third prizes were bagged by Mahima Mehra of standard VIII, Army Public School and Rajan Sharma of standard VIII of Daisy Dales Senior School, respectively.

In Group C category, Sawani Jain of standard I, Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar bagged the first prize, Gourav Hammad of standard I, Army Public School came second while Bhakti Sonsale of standard I, Choithram School, Manik Bagh came third. The winners were congratulated with huge rounds of applause.

Chairman Santosh Singh, UCO Bank zonal manager R Sheshadari, Senior Divisional Manager LIC Ratnakar Patnaik, Pawan Group director Pawan Khandelwal, Rajdeepak Distributors director Deepak Malhotra, Sachin Ingle of Vasan Eye Care, Billabong High International School GM Naresh P Vasant, Balaji Security Services MD Sajan Panikar, Systematix Technologies Pvt. Ltd. director Akhilesh Khandelwal, JJ Public School principal Sangeeta Sood, Mukesh Patidar of Gagan Leather House, Chandrashekhar Katju from Tata International Amit William, Abhikaran Honda trainer, Sunshine Hyundai consultant Parag Nagar and others were present on this occasion.

Bhalu Mondhe, Tanveer Farooqui, Pradeep Kanik, Priya Patidar, Roshni Sharma, Vandana Kerawat, Bharti Servate, Mansha Pradeep Kanik, Devendra Sharma, Pemendra Singh Gour, Shabnam Shah and Madhu Saxena were the judges in this competition.
