According to MIG police, 30- year old Aarti ( name changed), a resident of Amar Tekari went missing four months ago. She worked as cook at homes and wedding parties. Her family had searched for her and finally lodged a police complaint, expressing concern that she may have been kidnapped.
The woman’s nephew said that they received information that she was in Boondi district of Rajasthan. When the family went there, they came to know that Aarti was arrested with two other girls for prostitution and was in a lock- up. The family bailed her out and brought her back to the city on Tuesday.
Her nephew Jitu said that his aunt was in the state of fear and is unable to narrate her ordeal. She only said that one ashoda of Nehru Nagar had taken her to Ratlam promising her a decent job. After the duo reached Ratlam, ashoda sent her with another man to Boondi where she was forced into prostitution.
When she tried to protest, she was threatened with dire consequences and finally consigned her to her cruel fate. She was arrested with other girls when the police raided their den and that is how her family found her back. TI Nirmal Kumar of MIG police station said the woman was found at a rescue centre and her family brought back to the city.
