Indore : Mild tremors were experienced in the City on Saturday afternoon forcing people to move out of buildings, malls and schools to usher kids on to the playgrounds. No loss to life or property was reported. Official sources claimed that tremors were of 2.5 intensity on the Richter Scale.

They claimed that the tremors were the result of the earthquake that cause widespread fatalities and loss of property in Nepal.

Soon after the tremors were reported in the City, district administration sounded an alarm and people were asked to come out of the government office buildings.

It’s time for building structure audit: Seth

Indore must learn a lesson from the recent tremors and people should focus on implementing earthquake resistant measures while constructing buildings, experts said on Saturday.

Architect Atul Sath told Free Press that Saturday’s urged that the city must become alert and learn a lesson from the tremors. Now it is high time for IMC and administration to examine the building structures. The structure audit should be mandatorily done to avoid the damage, in the case of the earthquake and save the life of people in advance, Seth said.
