Indore : In a joint operation, Crime Branch and Lasudiya police team arrested a medical store owner for allegedly selling banned drugs after receiving an information over city police’s initiative ‘Crime Watch’ on Thursday. The team also seized banned drugs from his possession and started investigation after registering a case against the accused.
According to the police, a tip-off was received over Crime Watch that banned drugs were being sold at Mahajan Medical Store, located at AB Road near Lasudiya village without doctor’s prescription. Acting on this information, sleuths from the Crime Branch and the Lasudiya police reached the medical store and arrested medical shop owner Laxminarayan Gupta of Panchawati Colony while selling the banned drug.
During the search at the medical store, the team recovered 1785 banned tablets from the shop. It appears that the accused was involved in illegal trade of banned drugs for quite some time. The Department of Food and Drugs has also been informed and the accused has been booked under relevant Sections of the IPC.
