Indore : A man fleeing with a woman’s purse was caught by a electronic media journalist in front of Tukoganj police station on Thursday.

The accused had diverted attention of the victim by throwing some currency notes on the ground and made away with the purse kept in her car.

The incident took place in the evening when the woman was sitting in a parked car near a building and was talking on her phone when a youth approached her and told her that her money had spilled on the road. As the woman got down the youth grabbed her bag from the car seat and ran.

As the woman raised alarm, media person Rahul Vavikar, who was talking to his colleague nearby, chased the youth for 500 metres, nabbed him and handed him over to police.

According to SI BR Prajapati, the youth aged between 22 and 24 years hails from Tamil Nadu and is being questioned. However, the woman has refused to file a complaint in the matter, he added.
