Dharampuri: Amidst run up of all political parties for the general elections, Dharmpuri MLA Panchilal Medha kicked up a controversy by tendering his resignation to Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Friday. The information shook the political circles of the tribal dominated Dhar and Khargone districts and when it reached Medha’s supporters, they started agitating against the police and excise department for registering a case against Medha at Dhamnod police station of Dhar district.
On the complaint of an excise contractor, a case was registered on Wednesday night and immediately after it, Medha met top administrative and police officials in Dhar on Thursday. When no solution was seen, he announced his resignation as he was the sitting MLA of the ruling party and despite all this, the police registered a case against him without any inquiry. Medha said that he and his team were working against the illegal liquor mafia which was operating with the help of senior officials of excise department.
