Indore : Institute of Neuroscience (IoN), Medanta Indore and Neuro Club jointly organised a unique live pre-operative workshop under Neuro Update 2016- Epilepsy and Stroke, a two-day scientific meet held on Saturday.
This live workshop is first of its kind initiative by any hospital in the state to establish a comprehensive epilepsy program. Operative steps of temporal lobe epilepsy surgery were demonstrated to a group of neurologists and neurosurgeons in the workshop.
IoN Indore branch director Dr Rajneesh Kachhara underlined importance of hand-on epilepsy surgery programmes, Dr Mathew Abraham from Sree Chitra Institute demonstrated surgery and IoN, Medanta Gurgaon chairman Dr AN Jha supervised the workshop.
Explaining the importance of workshop, Jha said, “Epilepsy is the fourth most common neurological disorder and affects people of all ages. The workshop aims at educating doctors about advancement in technology available to treat epilepsy and stroke.”
The live workshop provided first-hand experience of clinical best practices used in treating epilepsy and stroke to doctors of central India.
