Indore : Who says that the government schools are deprived of teachers? Well many are, because the some of the teachers rarely attend the schools they are appointed in.

Recently the Director (School Education), Indore inspected many schools of the district and found various anomalies which included low attendance of the teachers and poor studying conditions.

When the director of School Education inspected ‘Government Girls Higher Secondary School Sanver’, in the morning, they found only 4 teachers out of 19 were present and out of the absent teachers, only 2 were on official leave. One of the teachers, Devkaran Gehlot Bhratya had been on unauthorized leave since 2 years and 3 months.

A similar state was found at the ‘Government Excellent Higher Secondary School, Sanver’ also, where the total number of teachers was 18. Only 6 teachers were present when the officials reached the school.

7 teachers had not reached the school by the time the officials reached there, while 4 people were on official leave. So officially three fourth of the staff was absent during the surprise inspection.

In ‘Government Girls High School Serial no. 27 Bhagirathpura’ out of 5 only 3 teachers were present followed by ‘Government Higher Secondary School Bhagirathpura’, where out of 8 only 6 teachers were present.

Many of the schools of Bhagirathpura did not have adequate light facilities and the officials also found many rats loitering around the school premises. They also found that the furniture of the schools was also broken and was not fit for studies.

It is to be noted that the administration had suspended two principals of the Indore schools for not imparting their duties regularly.

Joint Director of School education Indore Division, Dr. Kaushal Kishore Pandey said “Although the regularity of the government teachers and staff deputed in the schools have been improved, but still we have found approx 20-25 staff members, including teachers and principals, who were not coming to the school for a long time. We have asked the administration to take suitable action against these teachers”.
