Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh): New and Renewable Energy Minister Hardeep Singh Dang said that rapid economic development, urbanisation and growing population have put a strain on energy resources.

The commercial buildings are major consumers of energy and biggest emitters of greenhouse gases. “In view of this, government will introduce Madhya Pradesh Energy Conservation Building Code Rules, which will be implemented from November 1, 2021,” he said here on Tuesday.

Hotels, educational institutions, health institutions, shopping centres, airports, railway, bus stations, cinemas, social, religious places where large numbers of people gather will come under its purview.

If an applicant wants to construct a commercial building after November 1, 2021, and its combined electricity load is 100 KW or more, then the applicant will have to implement certain provisions.
