Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh): Though Covid cases are on decline, crowd is back in local markets. Sampling is being done on a large scale and fines are being imposed too on people flouting Covid norms by the administration.
In the last official report received on Monday, only 4 positive cases were found in test reports of 703 people. In all, 33 people were discharged and no deaths were recorded.
According to district health officer Dr KL Rathod, a total of 9,023 positive cases have been found so far of whom 8,829 recovered. Over 1.44 lakh samples were taken. About 84 people died. At present, 110 active cases are left in the district. According to civil surgeon Dr DK Sharma, over 1.81 lakh people have been vaccinated.

State health minister Prabhuram Choudhary interacted with the patients admitted in Covid ward of the district through video call on Wednesday. He inquired about medicines, facilities, and treatment being given to them and wished for their speedy recovery. Dr Dinesh Sharma, Dr Rajesh Borana, Hospital Manager Dr Himanshu Yajurvedi and others made 7 patients admitted from rural areas interact with Health Minister through video call.
According to District Crisis Committee, markets will open in the district from Monday to Friday till 4 pm. On the first day of unlock, crowds thronged the markets and police had to be deployed to regulate crowd.
Collector Manoj Pushp has appealed to people again to follow corona guidelines. He said any attempt to flout Covid protocol will invite trouble again.
